Braces

President Roosevelt loved the boy scouts. He would visit the boy scout camps and it was thought he contracted polio from a barrel of water. Several scouts came down with polio as well. Look towards the bottom of the picture and you will see his legs braces. He carries with him 50 pounds of steel to support his lower body.
