Hot Dog picnic

Did you know that King George VI visited the United States. One June 11, 1939 the King was invited to the President’s house at Hyde Park New York. The President felt he wanted the King to experience an American style picnic. This picnic was at the President’s get away called Top Cottage. The Picnic started off with Native American dancers followed by hot Dogs. It had been told the King never had had an American hot dog before and really enjoyed it. He asked the President if he could have another. The President’s mom felt serving hot dogs to the king was an embarrassment. Needless to say the king really enjoyed himself!
